Forum: opensource_audio Subject: CDA to MP3? Or what?

Hi all. tried something different, tried uploading some AUDIO! I have some weird treats in store..

I'd like to find out though, how I can convert CDA (that is on CD) to storage here. I'm new at this, so be gentle.

All of which I'll upload here is my own recordings (gasp)

All you have to do is buy software that will "rip" your CDs, as in get the files off of them, and then encode them as mp3s. The not-free version of WinAmp does this well, and some people like MusicMatch JukeBox, but its updates get annoying. A stock Windows Media Player can also rip, but it will encode in the wma format, which nobody seems to like.

There are, of course, free programs that will do this, too. I recommend searching for "exact audio copy". They might still have a free version available on some Dutch site somewhere.
